What's inside: 5 tabs
- START HERE
- The 3 steps, and one line that tells you if everything is filled in right.
- MY PAYCHECKS
- Your first payday and take-home pay, room for a second earner, and up to 8 amounts you put aside each payday, plus savings.
- BILLS
- Up to 20 monthly bills. For each one, the sheet shows the first due date and the payday that covers it.
- PAYCHECK PLAN
- 12 months of paydays. Each line: pay, bills, the names of those bills, money put aside, savings, what is left and a note. Your next payday and the totals sit at the top.
- YEAR VIEW
- Month by month: paydays, money in, bills and what is left. The months with 3 paydays are green.
Made to be easy
- Yellow boxes are for you. The rest is math. Example numbers show how it works.
- Each bill goes to the last payday on or before its due day. You don't match them by hand.
- Every payday line names its bills, so you know what that money is for.
- If a payday can't cover its bills, the line says how much is missing, like "Short by $60".
- One paycheck bigger or smaller? Type the real amount on that line.
- Plan as a couple: add a second earner.
- Typos get an orange "Check" note, like a due day of 35.

Questions people ask
How do I get the files?
This is a digital download. Nothing is shipped. After you pay on Etsy, download the files from your Etsy account (Purchases). Open the PDF guide first.
Does it work on my phone?
Yes. Use the free Google Sheets app. The guide has buttons to make your own copy, light or dark. It also works in Microsoft Excel 2010 or newer.
Which payday covers each bill?
The latest payday that falls on or before the due date. A bill due on the 12th comes out of the paycheck you got just before the 12th.
What is a 3-paycheck month?
With pay every two weeks, you get 26 paydays a year. Most months get 2. About twice a year, a month gets 3. YEAR VIEW marks those months in green, so you can decide early what the extra paycheck is for.
What if one payday comes up short?
That line shows "Short by" and the amount. You can move one bill's due date to your other payday, or put aside less that time. Change it, and every line updates.
I'm paid weekly or twice a month. Will it work?
No. It is built for paydays every 2 weeks. If you plan by the month, see the Monthly Budget Planner.
